Volunteering in an e-environment

Good morning eClubbers and Friends of the eClub!

First, don’t forget the Second Thursday Social tomorrow nite at the Growler in Danville, 5:30 until … If you are in the area, plan on stopping by even if you can’t stay long.

It’s fair to ask – how do a group of people who stay in touch mostly by the internet have an impact on their community?
One answer is by becoming involved in the activities of other Rotary Clubs and the District.

For instance District 5160’s youth leadership program, Camp Royal, is administration intensive to assure that 150 young adults under age 18 have health and parental approvals for participation; plus the logistics of getting them to and from the camp safely and on time. eClub member Christina Stanley can work from her home or office by telephone and internet to accomplish a key part of this important task.

Another example – Danville Rotary’s Crab Feed is March 21. One Friend of the eClub has donated a silent auction item, and there are other ways an interested eClub member can participate. At any given time, there’s a volunteer activity or fundraiser going on somewhere around the district.

Once again – hope to see you at the social tomorrow nite!
